Landlords

Rental income and expenses, finance-cost relief, and Capital Gains Tax when you sell.

Keys and paperwork for a rental property

Whether you let one property or a portfolio, rental income has to be reported on your tax return with the right expenses claimed and the finance-cost rules applied correctly. Anewthing prepares the rental accounts and the return, and explains what the figures mean for the tax you pay.

Selling or gifting a residential property brings a short reporting deadline for Capital Gains Tax. Anewthing calculates the gain, reports it to HMRC within the time limit and advises on reliefs. Landlords are also within Making Tax Digital for Income Tax as the income thresholds come down, which Anewthing can prepare you for.
