Most contractors work through their own limited company, sometimes as a sole trader, and occasionally through an umbrella company. Each route has its own accounts, tax and reporting requirements, and the right choice depends on your contracts, your clients and how long you expect to contract for.
Anewthing looks after the whole picture: the company’s statutory accounts and Corporation Tax return, a payroll for your own salary, dividend paperwork, VAT where you are registered, and your personal Self Assessment return. Engagements are reviewed against the off-payroll working rules so that status questions are dealt with before they become a problem.
If you are new to contracting, Anewthing can set up the company, register it for the taxes it needs and explain how to pay yourself tax-efficiently. If you already have a company, Anewthing can take over from your current accountant with the usual professional clearance.

Common questions
Should I contract through a limited company or as a sole trader?
It depends on your contracts, your expected income and whether the off-payroll working rules apply to your engagements. Anewthing talks through the options with you before anything is set up.
Can you take over my existing contractor company?
Yes. With your permission Anewthing asks your current accountant for professional clearance and the prior-year figures, then takes over the accounts, payroll and tax returns.
